After many hours of work the conning tower is getting close to completion, with all the 3D printed parts added, and all the filling and sanding done it was time for a primer coat of paint. I like to do this with a medium grey colour as this allows me to see the flaws on the part so I can correct these before the painting process.

After a final coat of primer to hide any of the remaining filler from the final tidy up it was on to the main paint work. The model was sprayed with the dark grey with several very fine coats, and once fully dry I gave the tower a number of matt clear coats before setting it aside to finally set overnight.

The next day was to do the port holes and drilling out the placement of the stanchions, as the following photos show.
